Celebrate the arrival of fall at Silver Mountain Resort with a day full of Oktoberfest fun! Enjoy authentic German-inspired food specials, live polka music, classic Oktoberfest competitions, and our inaugural Running of the Wieners. Whether you're racing, competing, or simply enjoying the mountain atmosphere, Oktoberfest is the perfect way to spend a Saturday day in the Silver Valley.

The Running of the Wieners
Think your pup has what it takes to be the fastest wiener on the mountain? Register for Silver Mountain's inaugural Running of the Wieners! Registration is FREE, and for every dog entered, Silver Mountain Resort will donate $5 to Shoshone Pet Rescue.
Racer check-in and optional warm-ups will take place from 11:30 AM–12:30 PM, with the race beginning promptly at 1:00 PM. Pre-registration is encouraged to help us prepare for race day, but walk-up registration will also be available during racer check-in from 11:30 AM–12:30 PM.
The race is open to purebred dachshunds and dachshund mixes with another small dog breed. All dogs must remain on a leash except while racing and should be friendly and comfortable around people and other dogs. Winners will take home the ultimate bragging rights, a Running of the Wieners trophy, and a custom Silver Mountain dog shirt!

Shoshone Pet Rescue
Join us in supporting Shoshone Pet Rescue throughout the day! Their team will be on-site at Oktoberfest accepting donations and sharing more about the important work they do for animals in our community.
Guests will also have the opportunity to meet some of their adoptable dogs and learn more about giving a deserving pet a forever home. Stop by, say hello, and help support a great local organization!
Live Music
From 1:30 PM–4:30 PM, enjoy live music from The Drywall Finishing Team. Known for their lively polkas, German favorites, and crowd-pleasing tunes, they'll bring the perfect Oktoberfest atmosphere to the mountain. Grab a brat, raise a stein, and enjoy an afternoon of music, dancing, and festive fun.
Stein Holding Competition
Do you have what it takes to be the last one standing? Join our Stein Holding Competition at 2:30 PM and test your strength in this classic Oktoberfest challenge. Hold a full stein straight out in front of you for as long as you can; the last competitor holding strong wins!
Costume Contest
Dress to impress! We'll be awarding prizes for both our Human Oktoberfest Costume Contest and Dog Costume Contest. Lederhosen, dirndls, and festive fall attire are highly encouraged.
Dogs of all breeds are welcome to participate in the Dog Costume Contest, so even if your pup isn't racing in the Running of the Wieners, they can still join in the fun and compete for a prize! Winners of both costume contests will be announced at 3:30 PM.
Food and Drink Specials
Come hungry! Oktoberfest-inspired food and drink specials will be available throughout the day, featuring festive favorites that pair perfectly with an afternoon on the mountain.
