How we will safely operate for the summer (updated 7/29/2020).
Face masks are now required in the City of Kellogg, indoors and outdoors, when social distancing cannot be maintained, per Resolution No. 2020-04.
What this means for us: guests will need to wear masks at the resort when social distancing is not possible. This includes all areas of Silver Mountain Lodging, the Gondola Village, and the Mountain House. Masks will not be required in the Chair 3 line, after entering Silver Rapids, or after you've been seated at Noah's Canteen.
Please remember your mask when you come to visit. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to comply with this new ordinance.
June 30th Update Below:
We are now open DAILY for water park, scenic gondola rides, and mountain biking. We want to thank all of our guests for being understanding of and respecting our new policies and procedures outlined in our first operating plan below (5/18/20). Our staff will continue to execute the cleaning protocols, mask requirements, and all other requirements outlined in our first plan. Here are some updated plans going forward into the rest of summer:
Water park capacity is now 300. We still have a Lodging restriction in place to minimize potential wait times for guests to get in. 2 PM to 4 PM is our highest demand times so try to schedule accordingly. Temperatures are still being checked for all employees and guests upon entering the water park.
Mo’s Froyo and Joe:
Mo’s is open as of July 1st. We are asking guests to put on disposable gloves available at the entrance before self-serving their frozen yogurt. We will have all your favorite flavors, but you’ll notice fewer toppings.
Ride & Dine:
Ride & Dines will take place every Friday night from 2:00-8:00 PM. Upon arriving on the mountaintop, your party will be given a number. When your number is called, your party can form a line at the buffet. There will be a plexiglass barrier between the food and our guests, so you can still see the food options, but our cooks will be dishing it for you. We appreciate your effort to social distance from people not in your party and ask that you only attend if you are showing no symptoms. We are limiting this event to the first 300 people. Online registration is available and encouraged.

Silver Mountain Guests:
While the time to return to the mountain has come, the safety and well-being of our guests, staff and community are at the forefront of our minds. Our leadership team has been working closely with industry leaders and state and local health officials to establish socially responsible reopening plan. To do so, we request your help in abiding by new health and safety guidelines posted throughout the Resort. Below are some of the changes you can expect to see around the Resort upon our reopening. (These may also change as we adjust to future conditions.)
Employees will have their temperature checked daily before their shift. Each employee has been trained on how to minimize the risk for themselves and guests. In addition to our normal sanitation procedures, we have created individual checklists to increase the safety of our guests and employees.
We have added procedures to reduce touch points for guests and employees.
Social Distancing markers are in place.
Hand sanitizer has been placed near the elevators and front desk.
Credit card machines and signature pads are on the front counter for guest use and are wiped down after each guest.
Room keys will be cleaned before and after each use.
Coffee and tea services have been removed from the bullpen area.
Decorative pillows, pens, and notepads have been removed from the rooms.
Mid-stay housekeeping service has been eliminated. Guests can request needed items to be brought to their room.
Enhanced cleaning services have been implemented in all guest rooms, common areas and guest touch points throughout the hotel.
According to the CDC, “There is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas, or water play areas.”
Our protocol is for all staff and guests to have their temperature taken upon entering the park.
Capacity will be limited to 215 people at a time. No day tickets will be sold for at least the first weekend.
Our protocol is that high touch areas including the restrooms will be cleaned every hour.
Slide tubes will receive extra cleaning measures after every use.
Cabanas will be available to reserve online.
Please social distance while waiting to use attractions. Some areas, such as the hot tubs, will have limited capacity.
Food and Beverage areas will be open with masked employees.
Biking and Scenic Rides:
To start the season, day bike and scenic rider tickets will be sold at the winter ticket windows. Season passes will be processed in the Northwest Gift Shop. Please obey social distancing.
Please only ride the gondola with whom you came.
Bikes shall be loaded and unloaded by their rider.
Gondola cabins will receive extra cleaning measures after each ride.
Chair 3 will remain closed due to snow until June 6th (snow level allowing)
Silver Mountain Sports will have the latest gear and apparel in addition to rental bikes. A bike mechanic will be on duty for repairs and maintenance. Dressing rooms are open, but no returns will be accepted on merchandise.
Restaurants will reopen on May 22nd.
Seating will be at 40% of normal capacity to allow for adequate spacing. Outdoor seating capacity will have additional spacing.
Menu’s will only be used once and then disposed.
All servers and cooks will wear a mask. There will be no buffets or self-serve areas.
Extra cleaning will be done in the kitchens as well as restrooms and common surfaces.
Condiments including salt and pepper will be served upon request and cleaned after usage.
Cups have been raised to eliminate the need to touch the flags.
Bunker rakes have been removed, please smooth any affected areas with your foot.
If you want an individual cart, there is a $5 charge per cart added to the greens fees.
Please observe social distancing on the course.
You can now book a tee time online.
We will show our evening movies under the stars three times a week as normal during the summer season.
Games such as giant checkers, Jenga and cornhole will not be available this summer.
We encourage guests to wear masks in public areas but will not require it. Please abide by social distancing rules.
